With an increasing importance being attached to "multilingualism", SIFIL aims at imparting professional training in foreign languages. Knowledge of a foreign language adds to one's competence level. Hence SIFIL has well designed coursed in 11 foreign languages.

Course Timings :
The courses are available in flexi-timings. The students can choose from any of the following batches :

1. Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 9.30 am
2. Monday-Wednesday-Friday 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm
3. Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm
4.

Weekend batches : Saturday
                              : Sunday

3.00 pm to 6.00 pm
9.30 am to 12.30 pm

This structure facilitates working professionals, students as well as businessmen to join the course at their convenience.

Course Design :

The Course Plan is designed according to levels. The training includes :

1. Basic Grammar and Usage :
Sentence structure, Word Order, Sentence Construction, Verbs, Dictionary Forms, Tenses and Adjectives.

2. Listening, Reading and Speaking Skills :
Audio exercises to give practice and familiarize the students with the language. Reading practice and comprehension to improve pronunciation and understanding. Conversational units related to daily routine and more in order to enhance speaking skills. The students are made aware of accent, pitch and intonation.

3. Video clippings and Films :
These project day-to-day activities of a country thus giving the students a feel and understanding of the language, culture and society and the lifestyle of the respective countries.

4. Writing skills, General and Technical Vocabulary :
Concentration on proper script development, preparation and expansion of ideas, standard formats of writing and general and technical vocabulary.

5. Cultural, Geographic, Literary background of respective countries :
Every language has a strong impact of the said factors and hence students are made aware of the same, for better grasping.

6. Conversational Units, Role Plays, Handling Situations :
Practical exercises of speaking build the necessary confidence to use the right sentence structure and vocabulary.

7. Essay-writing, Elocution and Reading Comprehension Competitions, Skits, Exhibitions : The students are encouraged to participate in these activities for promoting their confidence and performance levels.

Other Activities :

Corporate Training : SIFIL has customized modules for working professionals. It focuses mainly on business communication skills, general and technical vocabulary and specific situation handling.

Specialized Language Training for Management Students :
Foreign language training is a part of the curriculum in Symbiosis Management Institutes. As a result, the degree holder also gets basic knowledge of a foreign language that he or she opts for. This course is meant to broaden the opportunities of international jobs or business.

Teacher Training Programmes :
To keep them upgraded and aware of better teaching methodologies.

Rules and Regulations : (Applicable to all SIFIL Courses)

* Free Counselling is necessary before admission to any course. Fees are non- refundable. Transfers to any other course later on, will not be entertained.
* The award of certificate will be subject to : a] Minimum 85 % attendance. (Coming late by more than 15 minutes will be considered as absence.) b] Performance in the assignments. c] Student participation and progress. d] Teachers' recommendation.
e] Grades and recommendation by external examiner.
* Students may avail of the library facility between 10 am to 1 pm and 3 to 5 pm.
Books will not be issued for home-reading.
* Students should strictly switch off their cell phones or put them on silent mode.
* All Symbiosis Campuses are "Non Smoking Zones".
* Parking on this campus is regulated centrally from the head office of Symbiosis Society for all campuses. Students are requested to ask the parking attendant for a pass for the duration of the course. This pass will be available at a nominal cost.
* Violation of the rules or impolite/rude behaviour with staff members will result in cancellation of admission.
* Admissions are granted on first come first served basis.
